Tricks to tackle Ielts Graph's Introduction Part (Task 1)

Hello all,
It's a post dedicated to resolve the difficulty while writing an introduction for the graphs in ielts.Basically there are two ways to start writing the beginning paragraph for your task 1,here,one by one both will be discussed.

Technique 1.

Use "WH family" in the same sequence as follows:

1. Which (means graph is of which type)
Eg.  Vertical bar graph

2. What (means,what the graph is illustrating about// topic)
Eg. Usage of electricity

3. Where (the name of the place about which the graph is giving information)
Eg. In Japan

4. When (time period)
Eg. In 1996.

5. How ( how the data is calculated?)
Eg. In percentage.

So, now the introduction will be:

The provided vertical bar graph provides information regarding the usage of electricity in Japan ,in 1996.Data is calculated in percentage.

It is all about the technique one.


Technique 2:

Reversing the given statement and using different vocabulary words.It is best if you write your introduction part in passive.

Eg.
Reversing and paraphrasing:

The time preferences and count of both genders who were doing further studies in Britain over three sessions, are delineated by the provided graph.

In this way the same thing can be written but in a different way.

I personally prefer the first one because it saves time and gives more clarity in the writing.

The Confusion between FALSE & NOT GIVEN

Dear all, I hope you all are finding my content useful !!! Being an IELTS aspirant,I try to keep few of the ways fixed to avoid further confusion. Today,I will discuss regarding one of the confusion I faced while attempting TRUE/FALSE/NOT GIVEN from Cambridge Book 4. So,I came across following question : In the above question,the statement first seems False because Last sentence of the text means Refectory has healthy eating options (And generally students assume that HEALTHY AND FAST FOOD, both the keywords are contradictory ,hence,it should be False.) However, we ignore that the whole statement is " HEALTHY EATING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE" which means there may be other options as well but we are not sure that does it include FAST FOOD or not. As we cannot assume anything therefore it is NOT GIVEN.
